the L.A.I.K.E

Lets face it, many of us are in a "Career Path" that is less than inspiring at best or outright mind numbing and body aboding at worst.  We were made to live for more, much more in fact.  The "daily grind" is truly living up to its name and we find ourselves sinking into a slumber of monotony.  If this isn't you, count yourself blessed and much further on the road than many of us. If this is you then i would encourage you to take a breath and smile.  For both parties consider the following. 

What if our beliefs haven't been conditioned for our benefit.  Many of the cultural "norms" we grew up with have not been helpful in tuning into our souls.  Within the soul of every person is the "spark of divinity". "Man" has been created in the image and likeness of God and therefore has much more to give than we are led to believe.  

Although not obviously stated, the consistent narrative in the bible is one of God's people being given "it all" only to then to loose it all and have God's hand later restore what was lost.  This begs the question, what does having "it all" mean?  

Many modern people assume this means that they had all the latest and greatest gadgest and luxury items of the day.  Although this is true even for their time, it isn't the most precious gift God's people regularly walked with.  The biggest gift these ever ancient ever new people walked with was the spirit of truth, or as Jordan Peterson fleshes out in his teachings, The LOGOS. 

This LOGOS, is the real gift God's people had a connection with.  Although I have no scholorly backing to this following statement, I believe much of what the enslaving nations in the old (and new) testament were after was this ability for God's people to produce so much without much fuss.  Its pretty awe-inspiring to be in control of a huge group of individuals that produce lots of prosperity simply by doing what they do.  You might even begin to get conceited and believe it is your own doing as to why things are going so well for your country (or business) for that matter. 

The lie here is that these gifts truly belong to God and not any "ruling" class.  These gifts truly are meant to be lived in community and not exploited for the sake of a "ruling class" benefit.  The trouble is much of the Israelites seemingly just put up with it and claimed helplessness until a prophet arrived. 

Here steps in Christ in the new testament and you too if you have been baptized into his body and new life.  Jesus is the example of how to step outside of this slavery that God's people so often find themselves in.  What is it to be Jesus but to realize what it means to be "Man FULLY ALIVE".  It is this "Fully Alive" that gives God the greatest glory.  

So how does one recognize weather they are living "fully alive" or not?  Its pretty simple.  If the summation of your day is one of angst, tepidity, loneliness, and outright joyless drudgery or simply monotony, there is still time and hope to make a change.  God does not take joy in seeing his children suffering or living a life not fully alive in His being.

Sometimes the best way to re-orient is to simply sit by a LAIKE and listen to the truth of nature resonate with your bones while sipping on you favorite cup of comfort.  

My hope is that these web blogs and podcasts will help you calm your nerves, and ignite a spirit of hope , joy and love into your new life.   And through this new life bring new life to others and the world.   The life of drudgery is coming to an end, and it is time now to rediscover what you were truly placed here on the earth to be a gift to God's people and a welcome to this world.
