Know Thy Ship
Although i have not much experience with equipping a ship for sea, i do have some experience with readying a boat for a lake. To know what type of journey you are to embark on it is important to know the type of vessel you have to know what it is capable of. (Luke 14:28)
The body is a vessel of the spirit which drives you. Sometimes the spirit you have is shaped and limited by the capacity of that vessel. Pushing the boundaries of a vessel is the beginning stage of knowing what your vessel is capable of. This is why it is so important to be engaged in your body as much as possible. In doing so you get a real world experience of what your particular vessel is capable of and enjoys doing. Some of the best ways to begin to know your vessel is by getting out and doing the things that bring a genuine smile to your face, whether its outdoor engagements, visiting with friends, loved hobbies or even playing video games. These moments of enjoyment are beginning points to reflecting back that which brings you true joy....a sign of the holy spirit with you.
The spirit of the Laike is all about finding that true sense of JOY that permeates even the toughest of days. When you become more atune to this spirit of joy it is a great training ground for following God's spirit and intention for your life. Although much of life does involve situations that are difficult and trying, an overarching sense of joylessness in your engagements is a tell tale sign that you may not be on the right path. A continuation of a joyless life can often lead to a low energy spirit permeating your life, leading to an unwanted outcome/path of life.
Getting to know your vessel you've been gifted to steward is the first step in identifying your unique LAIKE life calling. Afterall, God would not ask you to do anything your vessel wasn't capable of. So take this moment, this week, this month to start reflecting and engaging in things (virtuous of course) that bring true JOY to your life. Take time to let the spirit of peace speak to you about why it brings joy and how you might currently be called from LOGOS to bring that joy to share with others.
In the next reflection, a good look at what spirit powers your vessel will be very important in continuing this journey. Afterall, a greatly understood vessel is just a bobber in the water if it is not powered to move. Knowing how that movement interacts with your particular vessel is a huge boon for a successful journey and ease of commute wherever this LAIKE life takes you.
